Through EPIC, ECFMG provides access to a high-quality service that verifies the authenticity of credentials related to a physician’s medical education, training, and registration/licensure. This primary-source verification is a best practice and the best protection against fraudulent credentials.

Step 1 – Establish an EPIC Account
Step 2 – Confirm your identity with EPIC.
Step 3 – Upload the credentials required by the appropriate sector to receive an EPIC Report once the credential is verified.

List of Documents for EPIC (Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials)-ECFMG

1. A full-color photograph of your face

2. A scanned, full-color copy of the photograph page of your current, unexpired passport

3. Information about your medical education, including your medical school identification number (if applicable) and

4. Attendance and degree issue dates;

5. Your medical licensure information (if applicable), including any identification numbers;

6. Your ECFMG/USMLE Identification Number (if you have one); and

7. Your ECFMG International Credentials Services (EICS) Identification Number (if you have one).

8. Postgraduate Medical Education Credential (if applicable)

9. Specialist Qualification (if applicable)

10. Advanced Degree in the Medical Sciences (if applicable)
